FAQs

General: 

Where is the exhibition being held?

The main exhibition is being held at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park in Nottingham. There will also be a satellite exhibition taking place at Lakeside Arts.

How long does the exhibition run?

The exhibition will run from 1 July 2017 - 29 October 2017.

What are the opening times?

The exhibition will open during the standard opening times of each site, with additional special events.

How much are tickets? 

You can find more information about ticket prices on our tickets page. Full information on tickets will be announced shortly. 

Can I buy tickets on the day? 

Yes but these will be subject to availability and limited during peak periods. We strongly advise booking in advance. Announcements about any available tickets on the day will be made on the Wollaton Hall Facebook and Twitter pages. 

Is there a group/concession/student discount? 

There is no concessionary rate for the exhibition. 


Parking

Can I pre book a parking space?

You can pre-book you parking space for the exhibition at Wollaton Hall when booking your ticket. This will guarantee you parking for the whole day, so you can explore the exhibition and activities taking place in the park. You will be able to park on the day, although these spaces are on a first come first served basis and will be busy at peak times.

Please note, parking at Lakeside Arts is very limited during term time and there is no pre booking. The centre is very close to the University of Nottingham tram stop. 

What about disabled parking? 

Disabled parking (for Blue Badge holders) is available at the front of Wollaton Hall. It is best to book this in advance. Please email wollaton.hall@nottinghamcity.gov.uk or telephone 0115 876 3100.  

At Lakeside Arts please use the spaces on East Drive.
For the Djanogly Theatre or other venues located inside the D H Lawrence Pavilion there are two spaces in the free car park next to the Pavilion. 

Please note, disabled spaces are limited and on a first serve basis. Blue badges must be displayed at all times.

 
Schools:

Can I bring my school on a trip?

Schools are welcome to take part in self-led trips throughout the exhibition for groups of 18 or more students. Tickets can be booked on the main ticket page. One free adult place is allocated for every 6 children. In school parties, under 5’s are also free. 

School parties under 18 children should email wollaton.hall@nottinghamcity.gov.uk for more information on how to book. 

If your school group requires a coach space for the day, please select this option when booking.

Our education team will also be running facilitated sessions suitable for Key Stage 1, 2 & 3. These will include Mary Anning and her fossils, Darwin, Earth Science & Dinosaur Day. If you would like to organise a facilitated session with our education team, please email amanda.davison@nottinghamcity.gov.uk for more information.

Access

Is there disabled access?

There is disabled access at both sites including lifts. 

These will be clearly signposted throughout the exhibition.

Access For All

We will be running a range of Acces for All sessions during the exhibtion. You can find out more about these access sessions here. Access for All gives visitors with additional needs the opportunity to visit at quieter times, with reduced visitor numbers guaranteed for the enjoyment of all. What facilities are on site?

  • Cafe on both sites, with wheelchair access serving hot and cold food and drinks.

Can I leave/bring a pushchair? 

You will be able to store your pushchair at Wollaton Hall in our buggy park at the beginning of the exhibition. Please note, this is left at the owner's risk and we cannot be responsibility for left items. 

You will not be able to leave your pushchair at Lakeside Arts.
